Apple revealed that it has sold 9 million new iPhones.<br />

"This is our best iPhone launch yet―more than nine million new
iPhones sold, a new record for first weekend sales," Tim Cook, Apple's
CEO, said in a statement.
"The demand for the new iPhones has been incredible, and while we've
sold out of our initial supply of iPhone 5s, stores continue to receive
new iPhone shipments regularly. We appreciate everyone's patience and
are working hard to build enough new iPhones for everyone."<br />

Apple also revealed that approximately 200 million iOS devices have
been upgraded to iOS 7, which it said is the "fastest software upgrade
in history."Last year, Apple sold 5 million iPhone 5 smartphones in its first three
days on the market, which topped the 4 million 4S smartphones it sold
the year before.<span id="intellitxt" name="intellitxt"></span><br />

Microsoft has announced a “fundamental revamp” of its Surface
tablets, with second generation models offering improved battery life
and processing speed. The original Surface and Surface RT
were launched in June last year.<br />
<br />
The new
tablets have been designated the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2.  The
new Surface tablets both have full 1080p, 10.1-inch HD screens and upgraded
processors. The Surface 2 uses Nvidia’s Tegra 4 1.7GHz processor whilst
the Pro 2 has Intel’s fourth-generation Haswell i5. Battery life on the
Pro 2 is said to be 75 per cent better than the previous generation with
 20 per cent better graphical performance.<br />
Customers also
have more memory and storage options to choose from. The Pro 2 will be
available in 64GB and 128GB versions with 4GB of RAM, or with 256GB and
512GB of internal memory and 8GB of RAM.  The cheaper Surface either
comes with 32GB or 64GB of storage and 2GB of RAM.<br />
As
well as updating the internal hardware, the new Surface tablets also
come bundled with Windows software. Surface 2 gives users the full
Office suite, "best of Skype"
for a year, and 200GB of
cloud storage via SkyDrive.</div>

LG has just announced the successor to the LG Optimus Vu 2, the LG Vu
3, which loses the “Optimus” tag, but adds a lot of power to make up
for it. The LG Vu 3 has a 5.2-inch (1280 x 960) IPS display which means
it keeps the Vu series iconic 4:3 aspect ratio that has long been given
up by the rest of the mobile market.<br />
The 4:3 aspect ratio will come in handy for those who do lots of
e-book reading and web surfing, but you’ll be stuck with large black
bars at the top and bottom when you’re watching HD content.<br />
Along with the admittedly mid-range display, LG has included the
Snapdragon 800 processor, a 13MP  back facing camera, Android 4.2 Jelly
Bean with LG’s own custom UI on top and support for LTE-Advanced.<br />

Intel is working on a new line of ultra-small and ultra-low-power
microchips for wearable devices like smartwatches and bracelets, a bid
by the company to make sure it will be at the crest of the next big
technology wave after arriving late to the smartphone and tablet
revolution.
The new line of chips, called Intel Quark, will ship next year
and include an ingestible version aimed at biomedical uses, Intel's
president, Renee James, told reporters late on Sept 10.<br />
The Quark chips will be five times smaller and 10 times more
power efficient than Intel's Atom chips for tablets and smartphones, she
said. "We're very committed to not missing the next big thing," James said.<br />The world's biggest chipmaker, Intel dominates the PC industry,
but it was slow to adapt its chips to be suitable for smartphones and
tablets.
Intel's focus on wearable computing - a trend that for many
Americans evokes images of Dick Tracy, the comic strip detective who
sported a two-way wrist radio - comes as Silicon Valley eyes
sophisticated computerised watches with touch-screens and other
high-tech features.<br />

The 5C marks a departure from Apple’s focus on purely premium
phones, but not as much as some expected. It has proved pricier than
expected and is, in fact, a trimmed-down version of the iPhone 5
launched a year back. To add to the heartburn among Indian customers,
there is no mention as to when it will be made available here.

First, a look at the two announcements. To be fair to Apple,
the company has always designed some of the best smartphones in the
world. Its iPhone 5s sets a new standard for smartphones with its new
64-bit A7 processor, which promises to provide blazing-fast performance
when launching apps, editing photos, or playing graphic-intensive games.
It also features an all-new 8-megapixel iSight camera and introduces
the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which allows you to securely unlock
your phone with the touch of your finger.

Some of the striking landscapes of Ecuador's Galapagos islands can now be explored online on Google Street View. The launch marks the 178th anniversary of the British
scientist Charles Darwin's visit, which inspired his theory of natural
selection.The high-definition 360 degrees pictures are a joint project
between Google, the Galapagos National Park and the Darwin Foundation.<br />

Many of the animals seen by Darwin in his 1835 voyage were captured on camera by Google staff.<br />

Viewers can also have a taste of less famous Galapagos wildlife, including marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and Frigatebirds. As in other Street View projects, you can zoom in and out and move around the images.
"The natural history of this archipelago is very remarkable: it seems to be a little world within itself," Darwin said after visiting the islands.

and the Grand Canyon in the US. </div>
